Chow and Fernandez Reunions

The Chow Ohana and Fernandez Ohana will combine their reunions on July 6 with some time helping Mālama Hulē‘ia win back the Pūali Stream. This is a great way to care for the ainakumuwai while strengthening family ties and having fun together. After a couple of hours in the field, the ohana will also paddle to check out Loko Alekoko and the rest of the Hulē‘ia.

Mahalo to Mason Chock for setting this up. He can make similar arrangements for any group. Please contact Mason at 651-7013 if you have a family, organization or group of friends who would also like make a day of helping the ainakumuwai and playing on the Hulē‘ia.

One Response to Chow and Fernandez Reunions

  1. Lorna Cummings Poe says:

The decendants of Antone Fernandez and Elizabeth Ahmoe Akana Fernandez would like to mahalo the Malama Hule’ia / Kai’ola Canoe Club for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy our day of mangrove clearing. Our hope is that more ‘ohana of Kaua’i will join in this important effort to restore the beautiful waterway and estuary. With everyone’s pa’ahana our children, grandchildren and Kauai’s community will one day see Alekoko as a food source and thriving ahupua’a. Mahalo nui!
