It is now possible again to see the Puali Stream and the Nawiliwili Small Boat Harbor from the Niumalu Park. Thanks to very hard working crews on both Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21, mangrove and other non-native plants were cleared all the way to the water’s edge. Native Milo trees were saved.
Among the volunteers were the good folks from Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club. Waipa Foundation helped a lot by lending us their chipper with Yosh as the volunteer operator.
On Saturday, Mayor Bernard Carvalho paid Malama Hule’ia a visit and delivered an Earth Day Proclamation.
