On 3/30 with twice as many Mālama Hulē‘ia volunteers as in our previous outing, we carved out a nice clearing, filled up a 20′ roll-off bin that was donated by Garden Isle Disposal, and created a temporary pile of even more mangrove waste. Kauai Nursery and Landscaping volunteered to take the green waste. We also hauled off some of the metal junk that was littering the area. But a lot more junk awaits removal. And a whole lot more red mangrove must be eradicated.
